Smoking Poster Reserch

Final

Looking at the posters above I think the most effective images is the smoke in the form of a skull. The skull represents danger and death and I think this would be the most effective way to show that cigarettes are bad for you.
This idea came from a 1910 poster advertising  smoking and I wanted to do a modern day version of a smoking poster.
Nearly all of the modern day poster that I have looked at are  negative  and have a dark element to it. Either the background is dark or the imagery is dark.
When I create my image I want to include the colour red because red represents danger and death.
When I take an image of a person smoking I will take it against a black background so the smoke stands out and I will also use the same pose the woman in the 1910 poster is in to try and make it look like its a modern version.

Things that the smoke could take form:
Skull
Danger Sign
A gun
Thumbs down

I think the smoke should take the form of a skull because I think it symbolises danger and death the most.

I also might add the circle design, from the image below, around the person to frame them and have the smoke and scull going out of the circle.
