Evaluation

In the project I started with the idea of time and light photography, however this idea has developed over each shoot and has evolved into more abstract photography. Experimenting with the shutter speed made the subject distorted which created effects that made the shots barely recognisable. Looking back I did lack direction but this did allow me to experiment and see what worked and what didn't. However for the Final Major Project I will create a plan of the shoots I hope to do but I will also keep it open so there is room to develop some new ideas that I may come up with after reviewing the previous shoot.

With the help of my tutor I found I had a wide range of artists and photographers to look at. I found all of them useful in their own way but some more than others. Liam Frankland, Jean-Marc Robin and Chris Friel I believe are my main influences.  Looking at the work of others has given me ideas and different techniques to try out. This has helped me develop my photography skills because I used equipment I haven't used before and also this project has made me become more creative and not just to look at the beauty of nature but to look at the strange aspects there in and so find shots that are different.

There are aspects of this project that I hope I could have developed further but my final major project allows me to do so. I have many ideas for the final project and I feel good that this project helped me come up with original ideas and helped me discover what I need to work on.

There are two main series of images which I will print and will present. I feel they work well in a series of images because the colours, tones and subject matter are all similar. I cropped them all the same size so it’s more of an indication that they are a series. I am really happy with the outcome of this project and I feel that it is my best work so far.
