I hope by the end of this shoot I will know how to use the intervalometer and I get at least two time lapses which I can edited.
Equipment needed:
- Tripod
- Camera
- Extra Battery Pack
- ND Filters
- Intervalometer
I'm really happy with these time lapse that I produced. I know that there are some mistakes but for a first go and with new equipment, that I haven't used before, i'm really happy with the outcome. I had set the intervalometer so it would take a picture every 20 seconds and with a fast shutter speed. I had to change the shutter speed to bulb on my camera and I had the aperture to the highest setting and also I had a ND filter on the lens. When I started the sky was bright so I had to use the ND filter but later on I took it off so more light would reach the lens.
When editing I used Premier Pro elements and set each image to half a second so the images flowed. I uploaded them to YouTube and them posted on my blog.
Overall I am really happy with this shoot because I know how to set up my camera with the intervalometer and how to edit.
I believe the second time lapse is the best because I like the contrast of colours and that I captured the sun setting. I do think the transition from each image is a bit jumpy so next time I think setting the intervalometer to take a picture every 10 seconds this would make the images flow into each-other better. I like that something so simply can be so effective when sped up and the change of colours and brightness.
The third time lapse was done after the second one but because the second was done with an ND filter its darker then the third. I like that I have captured the sun going down and the colours changing.
For my next shoot........
